Hamilton Beach CPM700 Commercial Stand Mixer, Silver Details

Product Description

The Hamilton Beach CPM700 stand mixer features: Tough, all-metal gears vary the speed and torque for all three attachments and provide excellent durability. The low center of gravity offers minimal vibration for secure mixing, while the die-cast aluminum body is built to endure years of mixing. Made to perform: The variable-speed, 800-watt motor maintains speed regardless of load, yet is gentle enough to mix delicate foods. No matter what’s being mixed, the mixer provides complete bowl coverage. The flat beater is angled to cover the whole bowl; the whisk is balloon-shaped for maximum aeration; the dough hook is strong enough to knead the heaviest breads. The pop-up head lifts for quick and easy attachment changes and bowl removal. This unique feature eliminates the need to put your hand in the mixture to change attachments or remove the bowl. Also, the tilt-back head makes adding ingredients or scraping the sides of the bowl much easier. Full of safeguards: The recessed -incheson-inches button prevents the mixer from being accidentally activated. A unique safety cut-off stops the mixer immediately anytime the head is raised. In addition, the motor features overload protection to help prevent overheating.

For round-the-clock baking needs, the Hamilton Beach Commercial stand mixer delivers power, control, and safety features all wrapped into one stout machine. With its 800-watt motor—compared to 325 watts for standard home models—the mixer is capable of maintaining set speeds regardless of dough stiffness or ingredient quantity. The all-metal gearing system is highly durable and adjusts both speed and torque for all attachments. In spite of its power, the mixer is capable of delicacy on low settings and vibrates minimally in action.

Hamilton Beach constructs the mixer with a rugged die-cast aluminum body for years of heavy-duty use. The head tilts up for easy access to ingredients and attachments, and automatically stops operation in the raised position. A rotary dial controls speed, while separate on and off switches control power—the on button is safely recessed to prevent accidental activation. The motor also features built-in protection against overheating. In addition to a 7-quart stainless-steel bowl, the mixer comes with a spatula, a flat beater, a dough hook, and a balloon whisk. The unit measures 15-1/2 inches wide by 9-3/8 inches deep by 13-7/8 inches high and carries a two-year warranty on parts and labor. --Emily Bedard

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Mixer, February 23, 2008

WOW! This is a real work horse of a machine. I picked mine up on eBay a few months ago and I couldn't be happier. With 800 watts of power you don't have to worry about thawing butter or handling the thickest of doughs. It includes three attachments heads (wire whisk, dough hook and beater) and they are very sturdy. The steel mixing bowl is sturdy and cleans easily. Controls are simply and it has a great safety cutoff to prevent the machine from operating when the head is tilted back.

2.0 out of 5 stars How Sad, December 5, 2011
This review is from: Hamilton Beach CPM700 Commercial Stand Mixer, Silver (Kitchen)
We bought one of these to replace a Kenwood 7qt mixer that was worked to death, on the assumption ( as stated in one of the reviews here) that the Hamilton Beach is a re-branded UK made Kenwood. Nope. The one we received is 'made in China'. Very obvious quality drop from the old one. The Hamilton struggles with a batch of slack ciabatta dough, much less anything stiffer. The hinge on the body is so loose/sloppy that the head assembly shakes from side to side when in use, making it impossible to properly adjust the beaters/hooks. How sad.

We still have the 25+year old 5qt blue and white Kenwood, works great, but he does not see much use because of the smaller capacity.

We do like the big red kill switch on the front of the new Hamilton, and the added handles on the bowl are nice. Since she prefers a tilt head planetary mixer over a drop bowl type like the 7qt Kitchen-aid or smaller Hobart types, I really don't know what to do other than looking for an unused... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Functional and Durable, August 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Hamilton Beach CPM700 Commercial Stand Mixer, Silver (Kitchen)
Hamilton Beach CPM700 Commercial Stand Mixer, Silver I bought this mixer when I had a baking business making about 50 cakes plus many pounds of cookies a week. It is the 4th mixer I bought after I burned through 3 others. Most people don't need to have as large a bowl but if you do, I would recommend this one over the Kitchen Aid and definitely over the Viking I had. Most importantly it has an automatic shut off when the motor gets overheated, which the others do not. It doesn't offer a splatter shield, but it is the exact shape as the Viking so you can order one from that company and it will work fine. The warrantee is not as good as the Kitchen Aid which automatically sends you another within days, but it also is more durable if you are doing some heavy duty baking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful heavy-duty household mixer, November 17, 2009

This review is from: Bosch Universal Plus Mixer with Blender Combo
I have now had my Bosch for a couple of years. The model I have is a slightly more powerful (1000W) European version with the metal bowl, but otherwise it is the same. It replaces a much-loved Kitchen Aid mixer which I had in the States. I must say that as much as I loved my Kitchen Aid, this Bosch model outperforms it as well as many other mixers. My first impression of the machine upon using it to make bread was that it was way too easy. After using industry-grade Hobart machines, Kitchen Aid, Electrolux, and Kenwood for many years in work and home, I was amazed at how well and effortlessly the Bosch kneaded the dough. I have not one time need to scrape down the sides and there is no spillage.

The capacity is truly enough to make 4 loaves of bread at a time. The lid performs wonderfully, leaving no place for ingredients to escape. Further, the removable part of the lid allows the most space for adding ingredients of all home machines which I have tried. As comparisons: I... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars So far so good!, September 18, 2009
This review is from: Bosch Universal Plus Mixer with Blender Combo
I just sold my kitchenaid and purchased this machine a few weeks ago. I love it so far. A few things I love are the suction cups on the bottom so that the machine stays in place as it works on bigger batches. I recommend you store it on it's side, (there are rubber pads on the side to store it this way.) It seems like if you store it flat the suction cups will wear out faster. It is a more compact design than before, which is nice, but I am hoping it will hold up like other models have. A lot of people complain that there are a lot of pieces to clean, I don't mind the cleaning aspect, but virtually everything is dishwasher safe if that's an issue for you. (I always hand wash mine because I think it holds up better.) It's a larger capacity mixer and does a better job with my doughs than any other mixer I've used. .

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST on the market, December 4, 2009
This review is from: Bosch Universal Plus Mixer with Blender Combo
After going through several of the Kitchenaid 600 Professional mixers over the past few years, I finally had enough and returned my last Kitchenaid mixer and bought a Bosch Universal Plus.. It was the best decision I have made. My Kitchenaid motor was getting hot just mixing up ONE loaf of bread, keeping with the 4 minute knead time that Kitchenaid suggests. After getting the Bosch, I was amazed at how effortlessly it mixed up 4 loaves of bread - it was the best experience I have had with a mixer. It is much easier to clean than my Kitchenaid and easier to use. I typically make a minimum of 3 loaves of bread every week, sometimes more, and needed a mixer that could handle that with no problems - my wish was granted. I love all the attachments that are available as well - with the powerful motor, the blender works amazingly and again was easy to clean. I would highly recommend this mixer - you won't be sorry with this purchase!

5.0 out of 5 stars Decided to buy a Bosch, May 28, 2010
By
This review is from: Bosch Universal Plus Mixer with Blender.Includes Cookie Paddles.
I was looking for a either a kitchen-aid or Bosch mixer and after much research decided to go with the Bosch. The new kitchen-aids seem to be more concerned with offering the right selection of designer colours than making careful decisions about quality manufacturing. I have read all the reports of Kitchen-aids with melted plastic gearbox housings and leaking oil. They may have fixed some of these problems by now but the pedigree is not that of the Hobart produced machines of old. When whirlpool bought the kitchen-aid brand they obviously did a redesign to cut corners and make more money without due care to quality. I am not willing to spend over $400 on a machine that could fall apart after the warranty runs out, Bosch still builds there own machines and care about their reputation.

The machine does everything I have tried. Whips eggs better than any other mixer I have tried. Makes cookie dough faster than I thought possible(used cookie mixing paddles). Made a batch a of... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a Workhorse!, August 7, 2010
This review is from: Bosch Universal Plus Mixer with Blender.Includes Cookie Paddles.
5 star product!

A serious home cook/baker, I've been a Kitchenaid owner for over 30 years, (both 5qt & 6 qt sizes). I still use them, but since purchasing the Bosch I reach for it most frequently. The Bosch Universal Mixer cannot be matched, particularly for high volume, and/or heavy doughs, it can mix up enough dough for several loaves of bread without any strain at all.

Because of the unique design of the dough hook, the dough is stretched and kneaded much more thoroughly (most like hand-kneading) which is superior to the dough hook action of the KA, resulting in better gluten development for great textured breads. The only downside (if this IS one), is that the machine works best mixing enough dough for at least two loaves, any less than that it is not efficient. Since I always bake at least 2 to 4 loaves at a time and freeze the extras this is not a concern for me.

I haven't had an opportunity to use the whisks or cookie paddles but I have no... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Mixing: Excellent, Cleanup: Ugh...,, January 5, 2011
This review is from: Bosch Universal Plus Mixer with Blender.Includes Cookie Paddles.
This mixer is powerful. You have the main unit where you attach your bowl, and a secondary unit where you can attach a blender.

There are many, many accessories you can buy for this unit. Be sure if you buy accessories you buy for the correct unit as accessories for this model are NOT interchangeable with Bosch's previous all-in-one machine! I've already had to return one attachment because I made this mistake. Look for accessories that have a model number starting with MUZ6!

This machine tears up just about any food you throw at it. When you turn it on you can get the feel for the full 800 watts of power it is capable of by it's roaring sound. You may need to run to your circuit breakers to find a suitable plug for the unit, since 800watts is just about the limit most circuit breakers can take. It's doubtful you can run this unit along with another kitchen appliance at the same time in the same receptacle.

Cleanup is not fun, not fun at all. I did not... Read more
