It served its purpose faithfully during those years with moderate to heavy use. I make all of our baked goods from scratch. Over the past two years the Kitchen Aid was showing its age and seemed to groan under the burden of multiple loaves of bread dough.We began searching for a replacement and the Bosch Universal Plus kept popping up as a comparable item. As I looked further I began to learn that many Bosch mixers outlast the Kitchen Aid - some of them still running after 30 years. A huge concern was that perhaps the quality of the new machines wouldn't match up to the older. You know, "They don't make 'em like they use too." But several sites (obviously they sold Bosch) said the same thing about the quality of the newer machines - they are built to take the load over the long haul. The mixer stays put when I use it--doesn't dance around the counter top! My old Bosch Mixer lasted 30 plus years and this one will probably out-live me! I like it especially for making bread and rolls because it does the kneading and I don't have to! The blender blends and chops beautifully, couldn't ask for more.
