I'm glad we bought this on Amazon so that we could send it back in a hassle free manner. The item came in a box within an outer box. As soon as I opened the other box, I could see the inner box in which the item was packed. I noted several things on that inner box. This item was supposed to come with a DVD. That description was unapologetically masked by a masking tape by probably the seller. And when you open that inner box, the DVD is obviously missing. The maximum retail price (with taxes inclusive) that comes printed on the box was peeled off. I'm sure, that price was in Indian Rupees, because in India that's how prices are printed. No UPC code on the box either. It was Made in India. That's not the problem. In fact, we wanted an Indian Grinder that would help us in our Indian Kitchen. I'm not sure if this was meant to be sold in USA. I grew skeptical of the item once I noted these tell tale tampering signs on the box.Now... I purchased it after burning out US blenders making idly and dosa batter. The motor saver on this mixie is the overload cutoff that is located on the bottom of the base. When the motor gets too hot, it shuts itself down instead of burning out and you can reset it and continue after a few seconds of cool down. The small jar is also great for masalas and chutneys. I've never used the juicer or watched the DVD. The one complaint I have never been able to use the small storage jars which have these impossible silicon washers on them correctly. The motor is really powerful and it takes seconds to grind or mix food stuff. I had tried Magic bullet earlier and it was a pain to use it.When the package arrives, it does looks like it has been opened and jars etc were not clean. But we assumed that someone might have tested it for 230V prior to shipping, since the make is of India. We washed all jars/covers/blades with detergent before first use. They also sent some spare parts which will be helpful, esp in US, when some part wears out. |
